BANK ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS UPDATE

With the assistance of the Bakersfield Police Department and the F.B.I. – Kern County Violent Crime Gang Task Force, the Shafter Police Department has arrested Gary Arthur Sanders for committing both of the recent bank robberies which occurred in the City of Shafter. Sanders was arrested on December 23rd, 2009 by the Bakersfield Police Department on unrelated arrest warrants and was charged with the bank robberies on December 26th, 2009.  Sanders is currently in custody at the Kern County Jail.

The Shafter Police Department would also like to thank the media and the public for their assistance as several tips from citizens who saw the media coverage helped to solve these crimes.

For October 10th, 2009

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE

A Ramey arrest warrant for murder and attempted murder has been issued for Alejandro Aguilar, age 17, a resident of the county area south of the city limits of Shafter. The deceased at the scene were identified as Pete Fimbres, age 25, and Julio Angel Herrera, age 18. Michael Fimbres, age 20, and Carlos Fimbres, age 27, were taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment for gunshot wounds, all three of the Fimbres’ are brothers.
