SHAFTER PLANNING COMMISSION

The Shafter City Council is seeking three individuals for appointment to each serve 4-year terms on the Shafter Planning Commission beginning January 2021.
The Shafter Planning Commission is a 5-member board appointed by the City Council whose primary objective is to review and act on matters related to planning and development such as conditional use permits, lot line adjustments, general plan, zoning, housing element, and variances.


Board meetings are held the second Tuesday monthly at 7 p.m. Planning Commissioners serve with compensation. Upon assuming office, commissioners must file an Oath of Office, and a Disclosure Statement of Economic Interests (FPPC Form 700); Completion of a FPPC ethics training course within first year of appointment is required; and maintain residency within the City of Shafter throughout the term.

Individuals interested in being considered, must be an elector of the City of Shafter (a resident within the incorporated city limits and registered to vote upon appointment); and must submit a LETTER OF INTEREST with their name, address and telephone number, a statement why they are interested, and a résumé of work experience, education, and other qualifications, to the Shafter City Council, 336 Pacific Ave., Shafter CA 93263 by 5 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
